III.  VOCATIONAL  SERVICES

Adult Day Program  (ADP)

  • 205 West 20th Avenue, San Mateo

A pre-vocational program for forty-two developmentally disabled adults with behavioral and emotional disorders. This behavior modification program addresses the reduction of behaviors that prevent successful participation within standard vocational programs and work settings. The program prepares the participants with the necessary skills to use existing community services and to move from this highly structured community day treatment program to a less restrictive one.

Employment Support Services  (ESS)
  • 20 East 20th Avenue, San Mateo

ESS is a community-based day program that emphasizes independent living and vocational skills acquisition. The program provides employment opportunities and community volunteer experiences for 60 consumers. The participants are integrated into the work force and then continuously supported and supervised by FHAR staff to ensure successful and long-term placement.
